RIP peace Tigger. Last night a beloved member of the family passed away. Although I am comforted by the fact that he was with his Brother, Mom and Dad at the time, as opposed to the Vet, It is still a very sad time. He was always one of the healthiest Chinchilla's, known for his love for apple branches, Lava Rock Chews, jumping from c...age to cage and up the walls. He was the most shy of the bunch but he always enjoyed a cuddle with his family.
Over the last month, he has had problems with his teeth and to spite the best efforts of our vet, Dr. Upjohn, he is now laying peacefully on my lap as he has been for the past 2 hours.
There are those who think of Chinchilla's as Rodents, but they truly have personalities of their own. I will truly miss Tigger's happy go lucky personality.
To anyone expecting me over the next few day, I apologise for any schedule hiccups that will result. I am now off to my Parents place in Barriere where Tigger will rest among the roses and tulips in my Mom's Garden.
I will always remember the day Tigger was born. We had no idea Aquarius was pregnant when we got her and Gizmo from the SPCA so the sight of his Brother scooter, all wet and tiny in the corner of the room, on a St Patrick's day Morning, was quite a surprise. Once Aquarius realised scooter was safe, Kathy and I watched as Tigger first came to this world. Now he is gone and our lives are richer for knowing him.
